Saturday Shopping Spree

Shopping is good for the soul: It elevates your mood, brings a smile to your face and just makes you really really happy. It is the equivalent of treating yourself to a spa day, but with the addition of new clothes that you can hang in your closet.

When I went shopping this week, it became clear to me how much I like pink.

I bought a pink bag.

Pink sunglasses.

And a pink sweater.

I’m starting to think I am a bit like Barbie, only sophisticated, with a brain and with no desire whatsoever to start a relationship with a Ken lookalike.

But pink overdose aside for a moment, what do you think of my new closet assets? 🙂

Ha! I thought you would do that!

Another exciting thing I would like to share with you all, is the fact that I bought orange lipstick. When I wrote about it on my blog last week, many of you confessed to loving orange lipstick. So cheered on by all you orange lipstick enthusiasts, I decided to buy one.

Not surprisingly, it is the best lipstick in the world! I bought the Gelée Tangerine lipstick from Yves Rocher. It is sensuously creamy, intriguingly shiny and looks absolutely splendid with my fiery red hair and blue eyes. (Mental self-five)

If you thought things couldn’t possibly get any better, think again because my shopping spree was not yet over!  I also bought a coral pleated skirt! As you may remember from one of my previous posts (No? read it again here), I absolutely adore pleated skirts in all their flirty femininity. This one is no exception:

I kept twirling around, watching my skirt float through the air and feeling insanely glamorous…

Sigh.

Is it just me or is this spring going to be incredible?

Get ready to drool: Fabulous Franco for Gorgeous Gucci Eyewear!

Published July 9, 2013 by The Feminist

I’m off to Italy in a couple of days and I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to enjoying enormous amounts of heavenly sweet and delicious gelato. If there is anything that truly captures what summer holidays are all about, it’s licking ice-cream off a cone!

Talking about lickable things, James Franco will be the face of Gucci’s eyewear Fall campaign.

I’m giving all of you ladies some time and space to comprehend the sheer awesomeness of this bit of very exciting news 😉

Ready? Here’s the ad:

The oh-so-yummy Franco is looking so incredibly hot, he could even make the finest Italian gelato melt in a heartbeat! Trendy denim shirt, scruffy yet sophisticated beard and of course the Italian brand’s iconic Black Bamboo aviator shades… Sigh. I think you will all agree with me that Franco is – indeed – Fabulous!

By the way, did you notice how the palm trees are reflected in his lenses? How cool is that?! What man wouldn’t want to buy these incredibly stylish sunglasses? I mean, if this ad doesn’t get men running to their local optician, I don’t know what will! All I can say is: job well done, Gucci! Job well done!

PS: The Black Bamboo sunglasses will be available at Gucci boutiques and selected opticians starting October 2013.

Fifty shades of sunglasses

See what I did there? 😉 Deft pun aside, this summer will be all – and when I say all, I do mean ALL- about shades! They provide an instant glam factor to any outfit and turns you into the perfect summer babe, even without a perfect summer tan.

This summer’s sunglass mantra is “the bolder the better”. Some designers’ sunglasses were so bold, I couldn’t quite figure out whether they were incredibly cool or incredibly ridiculous. As always, there’s a fine line between very vogue and very rogue.

But I do like to take risks, especially when it comes to fashion, and I truly believe there are some fashion daredevils among you readers as well! I could give you a list of all the new fabulous shades out there, but like I said, that would be a very long list. So instead of giving you a list of 50 sunglasses, ranging from pretty to pretty ludicrous, I’m giving you my ultimate top 3:

1) Egg-celent view

Round sunglasses aren’t just for Harry Potter freaks and people suffering from Easter melancholia, they are for every young and fashionable woman with an edge.

2) Catwoman

There is a catwoman waiting to purr inside all of us and these sunglasses are the perfect way to embrace your inner Halle Berry. They are classy but not safe. They are sexy but not slutty. They are simply perfect. (Especially those from Dior!) Miaow!

3) Pretty little flowers

This is by far my favorite shade-trend: Sunglasses decorated with flowers. Whether you opt for very graphical plastic flowers, like the ones from Prada, or frivolous tiny florets, like the shades from Anna Sui, one thing is certain: these flowers will not wither, just like your amazing sense of style! 😉

The man I would like to kiss: It’s Mr Darren Criss

The man I would like to kiss: It's Mr Darren Criss

Here is my message to all those men who don’t give a crap about fashion: Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society. (Mark Twain was such a wise guy!)

So p-leeeaaase, burn all those hooded sweaters, worn-out sneakers, and boring t-shirts and add a touch of glam to your wardrobe!

Just look at Glee-star  Darren Criss for inspiration. There is simply nothing he cannot pull off: bow ties, suits, bold colours, funky sunglasses, …

And besides, the entire female population LOVES him! So if you all go shopping now, we may come to love YOU as well!
