If I were a Rich Girl… this would be my Christmas Outfit

It’s now Friday November 22. In about a month we will all be sitting around Christmas trees, eating Christmas dinners and opening up Christmas presents. None of that would be complete without the appropriate Christmas outfit. Not only should your outfit reflect the festive mood of the holiday season, it should also be outrageous enough to make all the Holiday pictures truly memorable. There is no better feeling in the world than looking back at old Christmas pictures and thinking to yourself: “Damn, girl! That was one hell of an outfit!”

So I was browsing around the Alexander McQueen website the other day- because that’s what you do, when you want to buy clothes but can’t afford them- and I saw this jaw-dropping, mesmerizingly beautiful stained glass print dress. I bet this dress could make even the most insecure woman on the planet feel like a princess. The sheer luxury of the print guarantees a night you will never forget…

Unfortunately, such a memorable night comes at a price. A high price. $1,195.00 to be exact.

So yeah, I’ll guess that dress will stay a fantasy forever. Unless I happen to stumble upon a handsome billionaire or win the lottery. Or rob a bank. But since chances for that ever happening or rather slim- and I don’t want to end up in prison- I will have to find my holiday outfit in more affordable places.

Bummer.

PS: Dear reader, if you happen to work for Alexander McQueen, feel free to contact me so we can discuss a possible sponsorship. Much appreciated! 😉

Feather Fetish

Feather Fetish

I have a confession to make, dear readers. In a fashion world where every woman is glued to her lipstick and addicted to her “slim fit”-jeans, there are a few fashionistas who take it one step further and develop a more “exotic” fashion addiction. As you may guess, I am one of them. My addiction? Feathers!  I honestly can’t stop buying feathery things: from feather embellished skirts and dresses, to feather jackets and collars. As well as feather boots, bags and earrings. My feather collection is absolutely enormous! For some absurd reason, I especially love black feathers, because they stand for both classiness and mystery. A black feather outfit is edgy, eclectic and elegant: three words that – in my humble opinion- represent me as a young woman.

In short, I am seriously infected with feather flu. 😉

But what about you? Are you a feather fan as well, or do you have another fashion addiction?

“Autumn is a second spring where every leaf is a flower”

“Autumn is a second spring where every leaf is a flower”

Fall, my favorite time of year. Leaves are painted into fifty shades of red, brown and yellow. The cool air is refreshing and the smell of roasted chestnuts, pumpkin soup  and damp wood are indulgingly nostalgic. It’s also the time of cute hats and cozy knitted sweaters, leather long-sleeved gloves and faux-fur coats.  The perfect fall outfit to go for a long walk in the woods.

When the sun is shining, what better way to spend your time than to be out in the woods? The fresh blush on your cheeks being one of the many perks.  When it rains, what better way to spend your time than to sit back and relax in front of the fireplace with a good book and a hot chocolate? Cozy is no longer an adjective, but a state of mind.

Fall reminds me that everything can change. That transition is not something to be afraid of, but something to look forward to. Fall captures unspoiled beauty and the seasonal changes will be the memories of a lifetime.
