From Russia with Love: Anna Karenina’s guide to a fashionable winter

It’s getting awfully cold outside: snowstorms, temperatures below zero and an ice cutting wind. I always find it rather difficult to dress fashionably in the heart of winter: you don’t want to die from the cold, but you don’t want to look like an Eskimo either.

But ladies and gentlemen, I have found the perfect solution! I went to see the film Anna Karenina this weekend and I was truly inspired by all the beautiful clothes. Keira Knightley’s on-screen wardrobe is simply breathtaking and, more importantly, all her clothes look so warm! Coincidence or not, a lot of designers seem to have jumped on the Russian bandwagon as well and incorporated some classic 19th-century tsarist luxury into their winter collections. The easiest way to adopt this dazzling look: buy some vintage eye catchers like faux fur hats, lace dresses, velvet gloves and dainty brooches.

In short, if you want to stay fashionable and warm this winter: GO RUSSIAN!
